The Danish National Baseball Program (DNBP) is proud to announce the Danish Development League, a premier initiative designed to nurture young talent across Denmark and Southern Sweden to promote the growth of baseball in the country and region. Taking place from April to June 2025, this league will serve as a cornerstone for junior development, offering opportunities for players of all junior age groups to compete, improve their skills, and build lifelong memories in the spirit of sportsmanship.

League Objectives

1. Player Development:
   Provide a structured and competitive environment where young players can develop foundational and advanced baseball skills, preparing them for higher levels of competition.

2. Promoting the Sport:
   Expand awareness and participation in baseball within Denmark, ensuring the sport reaches new communities and grows in popularity among youth.

3. Fostering Teamwork and Leadership:
   Encourage players to build meaningful relationships, practice teamwork, and develop leadership skills, both on and off the field.

4. Creating Equal Opportunities:
   Ensure inclusivity by welcoming players of all junior age groups and skill levels, from beginners to advanced athletes, fostering a sense of community and belonging.

5. Encouraging Physical Activity and Discipline:
   Promote healthy lifestyles through regular physical activity while instilling discipline, resilience, and a strong work ethic in young athletes.

6. Pathway to Excellence:
   Act as a stepping stone for players aspiring to join regional or national teams, providing them with the exposure and coaching necessary to excel in the sport.

League Details

• Duration: The league will run from April to June 2025, aligning with the spring baseball season for optimal weather and playing conditions.
• Participants: Open to all junior age groups, ensuring that players of varying ages and skill levels have an opportunity to participate and thrive.
• Structure:
  • Teams will compete in around-robin format, ensuring fair play and maximum engagement for all participants.
  • Teams will be selected by the coaches in a draft type format.
  • Games will be held on weekends to accommodate school schedules and maximize attendance.
• Coaching and Mentorship:
  • Each team will be assigned experienced coaches who will guide players in improving their technical and strategic skills.
  • Special guest mentors from the Danish National Baseball Program and experienced international players will conduct workshops and clinics during the season.
